The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, arrived in Qingdao this (May 16) afternoon.The purpose of this trip is to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Ministers Responsible for Trade (MRT) Meeting.
Upon his arrival in Qingdao, Mr So held a bilateral meeting with the Minister of Trade of Indonesia, Mr Muhammad Lutfi, to discuss issues of mutual concern.
Mr So will join the MRT Meeting tomorrow (May 17) and on May 18 to discuss how APEC could support the multilateral trading system and fight against protectionism.
The Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Godfrey Leung, is the Acting Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development during Mr So's absence.
